A smoke/fire detection system is undoubtedly the most important system within your building to protect you, your family or business.
All residential units must have a smoke detection device in every sleeping room, one carbon monoxide/smoke detector on every level of the building, a device within 5 feet of every sleeping room door (hallway side), and a carbon monoxide/smoke detector in any room that has combustion (furnace room). This system should be interconnected so that if an event occurs in the basement, the basement device will signal to all other devices within the building. If for some reason your building doesn’t have a smoke/fire detection system stop what you’re doing, get the phone and give me a call now. Think of it as the least expensive life/building insurance package you will ever purchase.
